Visited the Edogawa Commemorative Garden in East Gosford as they had an open day event going on. Gosford formed a Sister City Agreement with Edogawa Japan in 1988. The garden was a gift from Edogawa. Extending over 4,000 square metres, the garden is based on a traditional ‘shuyu’ (strolling style) garden, incorporating Japanese features. With meandering pathways, a roofed Japanese pavilion overlooking the Koi pond, raked dry stone garden and traditional Japanese tea house.
We watched the various demonstrations, martial arts, Japanese tea ceremony, and had a few hours wandering around. We finished off with having our Sunday lunch in the restaurant.
