Today we had a wonderful day out visiting the rivers and water ways that feed Tuggerah lake which is almost on our doorstep. It was an initiative of our local council. They organised a day out to inform residents of the ecological importance of the lake systems on the Central Coast. How the storm water is managed and drained through the rivers and storm water drain system and naturally filtered before entering the lake. We stopped off at the old milk factory in Wyong for mid morning tea and cakes before being taken to some areas along the Wyong river that are hidden gems. Then onto Long Jetty, which is on the edge of Tuggerah lake where we had a picnic lunch provided. Our trip finished at The Entrance where Tuggerah lake meets the sea.
