Our pair of kookaburras are still busy in the gum tree. They wake us in the morning along with their mates with their raucous call just as it is getting light and continue to entertain us during the day. They often sit on the gutter of the house, the washing line or on the fence and watch what we are up to, and occasionally swoop onto the grass and dig out and eat a cicada that is just emerging from the ground.

They are getting quite friendly and let us get really close to them to take photographs, and are happy to eat the odd tit-bit we give them, the odd juicy worm from our worm farm.
