Maggie is over for a visit so we planned a day out and took the opportunity to have a trip up to the Hunter Valley which is just under a couple of hours drive north from us.
We set off early and had a meandering drive through bush land via the small homesteads, Central Mangrove, Kulnura, Bucketty, Laguna and stopping at Wollombi for coffee. Then meandered on again finally reaching Pokolbin where we visited the Hunter Valley Gardens and spent some time wandering around there.
Time for lunch, so we found ourselves a lovely restaurant that served some wonderful meals. Just got seated in time, fortunately under cover, as the heavens opened up and we were treated to a thunder storm. It did not last long and soon dried up.
On our way home we could not pass Morriset without going to visit the kangaroos in the park at on the banks of lake Macquarie.
