Goodbye Gum Tree

We have eventually got around to concentrating on the garden and the first major job that had to be sorted out was the future of the large gum tree. Unfortunately it has to go as it has been badly lopped in the past and is slowly dieing from the top downwards, the termites have moved in to feed on the decaying timber, and the peripheral growth is a danger in strong winds as large branches come crashing to the ground.

So today we employed the services of Everwilling Tree Specialists and the gum tree was felled along with five palm trees and the stumps ground down.

They did an excellent job and now we can get on with planting some native species more suited to a small garden.
